Fresh Peach Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 21/2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups diced fresh peaches
  • Topping:
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • Instructions


    Cream together sugars and butter. Add eggs, buttermilk, and baking soda; mix well. Add flour, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt; beat very well. Fold in peaches. Pour into a 9-x-13-inch pan. Combine topping ingredients and sprinkle over cake batter. Bake at 350ยบ for 30 to 40 minutes. Serve warm with fresh peaches and milk.
