Grilled Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp

Ingredients

  • 9 slices bacon
  • 4 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil or melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh-ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 18 jumbo shrimp, shelled and deveined
  • Instructions


    Cut bacon slices in half. Partially cook in microwave to render some of the fat without crisping.
    Combine olive oil or butter with spices, Worcestershire sauce, and lemon juice. Add shrimp and toss well to coat. Marinate at room temperature for 45 minutes. Remove shrimp, reserving marinade for grilling.
    Wrap bacon around each shrimp and secure with a toothpick that’s been soaked in water. Place shrimp on hot grill for four minutes. Turn and brush with reserved marinade. Grill four minutes longer or until shrimp are opaque.
    Note: Shrimp can also be baked in oven under broiler.
