Caramel Fudge Dumplings

Ingredients

  • Sauce:
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • Egg-size lump of butter
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • Pinch of salt
  • Batter:
  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Pinch of salt
  • Egg-size lump of butter
  • Instructions


    Combine sauce ingredients and bring to a boil. Mix batter ingredients and drop by teaspoonfuls into boiling sauce. Bake at 325° until done, about 25 to 30 minutes.
