Christmas Brownies

Ingredients

  • 1 box brownie mix
  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese
  • ¼ cup butter, softened
  • 1 (1-pound) box powdered sugar, sifted
  • ¼ teaspoon oil of peppermint (or to taste)
  • Green food coloring
  • 1 tablespoon (or more if needed) whole milk
  • 4 sticks of peppermint candy, crushed

Instructions


Prepare brownies according to package directions. Cool.
To make the frosting, all of the remaining ingredients should be at room temperature. Combine the cream cheese and butter. Add the sugar and beat until very smooth and creamy. Add the oil of peppermint and desired amount of green food coloring. Add milk, if needed, for spreading consistency.
Spread frosting over brownies and garnish with crushed candy. Cut into squares to serve.
