Desserts - Lucky Charms Cutouts

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 cup peanut butter chips
  • 1 cup vanilla milk chips
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 7 cups Lucky Charms cereal
  • Cookie cutters (star, moon, clover, horseshoe, balloon, heart, and diamond shapes are fun)

INSTRUCTIONS
Line a jelly roll pan with waxed paper; butter or spray the paper. Heat peanut butter chips, vanilla chips, corn syrup, and butter in a three-quart or larger saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly, until melted.
Remove from heat; stir in cereal until evenly coated. Using the buttered back of a spoon, press mixture in pan. Refrigerate about 20 minutes or until slightly firm.
Cut cereal mixture into desired shapes with cookie cutters (or into 2-x-1 1/2-inch bars). Roll remaining cereal mixture into 1 1/2-inch balls. Cover and refrigerate any remaining charms for up to three days.
Yield: About 19 charms and 17 balls or 50 bars.
