Breads, Rolls, and Muffins - Yeast Biscuits



INGREDIENTS
  • 2 packages yeast
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 2/3 cup oil
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 6 cups self-rising flour

INSTRUCTIONS
Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Add buttermilk, oil, and soda. Add flour gradually and stir. Cool and store in refrigerator. As needed, gently form dough into a log and slice biscuits to the thickness you desire. Place biscuits two inches apart on a lightly greased baking sheet and Bake at 425ยบ for 12 to 15 minutes. Half of the recipe makes enough biscuits for a couple of small family.
