Pineapple-Orange Gooey Cake

Ingredients

  • Crust:
  • 1 orange supreme cake mix
  • 1 egg
  • 1 stick butter or margarine, melted
  • Filling:
  • 1 (8-ounce) package softened cream cheese
  • 1 (16-ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 stick butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 (16-ounce) package powdered sugar
  • Instructions


    Combine ingredients, mix well, and press into greased 9-x-13-inch pan. Set aside.
    In a large bowl, combine cream cheese, powdered sugar, and melted butter or margarine. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well. Add pineapple and blend well. Pour mixture into prepared, unbaked crust. Bake at 350° for 40-50 minutes (cake should be slightly “shaky” in the center). Cool and cut into 2-x-2-inch squares.
    Note: This recipe can very easily to changed to different flavors. Peanut
    Butter-Chocolate Gooey Cake: Use a chocolate cake mix in crust and use 1 cup creamy peanut butter instead of pineapple in filling. Double Chocolate Gooey Cake: Use chocolate cake mix in crust recipe and add 2 tablespoons cocoa in filling recipe.
