Crescent Casserole

  • 3 cans crescent rolls
  • 2 pounds sage sausage, browned and drained
  • 2 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese


While sausage is hot, blend thoroughly with cream cheese. In a lightly greased 9-x-13-inch pan, lay 11/2 cans of crescent rolls over bottom, covering bottom of pan completely. Spread the sausage-cream cheese mixture evenly over crescent rolls. Layer remaining crescent rolls on top. Bake at 350° for 25 to 35 minutes or until crescents are done.
An alternative to this recipe is to spread crescents into a rectangular pastry, then spread sausage-cream cheese mixture evenly over crescents. Roll into a log shape and place carefully on a wax paper-covered cookie sheet. Freeze for 30 minutes. Slice and place on cookie sheet. Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes.
