Raisin Ribbon Bars

  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups oats
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup jam or preserves (flavor of your choice)
  • 1 cup raisins


Beat together butter and brown sugar. Stir in flour, oats, and walnuts. Reserve 1
cup of mixture for topping. Press remaining mixture into a slightly greased 8-inch square pan. Combine raisins and jam and spread to within 1/2 inch of edges of pan. Sprinkle with reserved oat mixture; press lightly. Bake at 375° for 25 to 30 minutes.
