Barbecue Sandwiches

Ingredients

  • 1 (1- to 2-pound) roast beef, cooked
  • 1 cup “juice” from roast
  • 2/3 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 11/2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 11/2 tablespoons prepared mustard
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 11/2 cups ketchup
  • Eight sandwich buns
  • Instructions


    Sauté onion in butter until tender. In another dish shred cooked roast beef. Add remaining ingredients to onions and simmer 1/2 hour. Add beef and cook 1/2 hour at medium heat. Serve on toasted buns.
    Yield: Eight sandwiches.
