Tomato-Pear Chutney

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups tomatoes, cooked or canned, chopped
  • 2 1/2 cups pears, cooked or canned, chopped
  • 1/2 cup seedless raisins
  • 1/2 cup green pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 cup onions, chopped
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 cup pimiento, chopped
  • Instructions


    Combine all ingredients except pimiento. Boil slowly for one hour, stirring occasionally until thickened. Add pimiento and boil for three minutes longer.
    Pack into hot sterilized jars. Process in water bath canner for 15 minutes. Yield: 11/2 pints.
