Pear-Pumpkin Pie

  • 3/4 cup pear sauce
  • 3/4 cup pumpkin
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup raw sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk, scalded
  • Instructions

    To make homemade pear sauce, core, peel, and chop 2 to 3 pears. Place in an open pot covered with water and cook until soft.
    As the water evaporates, you will have pear sauce. If you like the texture of chunky sauce, mash pears by hand. If you prefer a smoother variety, whip pears with an electric mixer. Sauce can be enjoyed fresh, frozen, or canned.
    To make pie, combine 3/4 cup pear sauce with 3/4 cup pumpkin. Add sugar and spices. Beat in eggs and milk. Pour into a nine-inch pie shell and bake at 375ยบ for 60 minutes.
