Easy Sweet and Tangy Citrus Chicken

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts, skinless and boneless
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • Juice of 1 small lemon
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Juice of 1 small orange
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder, or to taste
  • Pinch of salt and black pepper, or to taste
  • 3 tablespoons plain flour
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes, or to taste
  • Pinch of zest from each citrus fruit
  • 2 tablespoons dry white wine or chicken broth
  • Instructions


    Place greased baking pan with butter and oil in oven as it preheats to 375 degrees. Meanwhile, season chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Lightly coat all sides of meat with the flour. Dredge chicken breasts through melted butter and warmed olive oil to coat both sides. fruit juices over the chicken over the chicken. Sprinkle meat with red pepper flakes. Bake until chicken breasts are cooked safely to 165 degrees in the center. Remove two tablespoons of drippings from pan and pour into a small skillet. Lightly sauté mixed citrus zest until colors are bold. Add white wine or chicken broth to the zest. Heat to boil. Drizzle meat with zest mixture and serve.
