Mother’s Date Nut Roll

Ingredients

  • 3 cups vanilla wafer crumbs
  • 2 cups finely chopped
  • walnuts or pecans
  • 1 (8 ounce) package chopped dates
  • 1 can sweetened
  • condensed milk
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 5 ounces (1/2 bag) miniature marshmallows

Instructions


Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl; mix well. Divide mixture into three parts. Roll out by hand on parchment paper into a log shape. Wrap in the parchment paper and chill 4 hours or overnight. Slice and arrange on tray garnished with grapes, cranberries, or cheese cubes.
Note: My mother made this every Christmas and loved sharing it with neighbors, plus the family always gathered expecting this tasty treat. Serves 12-16.
