Barbecued Green Beans

Ingredients

  • 2 quarts canned Roma or Blue Lake green beans
  • 10 slices bacon
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt*
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • 3 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons prepared mustard

Instructions


Fry bacon until crisp. Sauté onion in bacon grease or butter. Mix together remaining ingredients, except green beans and bacon. Do not cook liquids on stove. Pour sauce over green beans and bacon. Bake at 300° for one hour.
* Use less salt if beans have had salt added when canned.
